First test of the unreleased Gaerne SG12 boot

August 18th, 2008
Hey everyone, this is Trent bringing you reviews of the very best moto gear available today.

I was the fortunate recipient of these Gaerne SG12 boots because of the unfortunate broken leg of Trey Canard since we have the same size foot. All I can say is “WOW” these boots are an improvement on a boot I didn’t think could get any better. Not only are they more comfortable but they feel more protective and stable in the ankle region. There is added padding in the foot base and the ankle. The new pivot design is amazing in the way it keeps the ankle from going to far over and the compression system to help absord hard hits is really amazing.

This boot has been completely redesigned from head to toe and it shows. The Gator is new and kept all the dirt out of my boot which is hard to do at LACR. The redesigned buckles are super easy to adjust and easier to open and close. The sole is the same density according to Bob Rathcamp from Gaerne but the new white color is sweet looking. The boot has a better feel all around and I immediately felt at home in the boot while riding with no break in period at all. If you loved your SG10 you will most definitely have to have a pair of the new 12’s they are truly amazing.

And that’s my weekly review for this week.
